On December 4, 2018, the students from grade 5C from Scoala Gimnziala "Vasile Alecsandri" Baia Mare, met, on Skype, their partners from the Afganistan International School (AIS), Kabul, Afganistan, also 5th grade students.
The Romanian students were coordinated by their teachers Daniela Buda and Tania Fereștean.
În 4 decembrie 2018, elevii din clasa 5C de la Școala Gimnazială "Vasile Alecsandri" Baia Mare, s-au întâlnit online, pe Skype, cu partenerii lor, elevi din clasa a 5-a, de la Afganistan International School (AIS), Kabul, Afganistan. Elevii români au fost coordonați de profesoarele lor Daniela Buda și Tania Fereștean.
The meeting was interesting. Our Afghan friends presented us a poster with the Romanian flag, as they wanted to share our joy in celebrating 100 years from the Unification of the Romanian provinces in 1918. It was a very touching moment.
Întâlnirea a fost foarte interesantă. Prietenii noștri afgani ne-au pregătit un poster cu steagul României, deoarece voiau să participe alături de noi la bucuria Centenarului Marii Uniri din 1918. A fost un moment emoționant.
They sang the national anthems of their own countries.

Then the students introduced themselves, speaking English. They talked about themselves, name, age, their school, their pets and hobbies, etc. They described their traditional clothes.
Apoi, elevii din cele două școli s-au prezentat personal: nume, vârstă, școala, animalele preferate, hobiuri, etc. Elevii afghani și-au prezentat costumele tradiționale.
Cei mai curajosi dintre elevii români, care au vorbit în engleză, au fost Samira Tivadar, Denis Ungur, Mihăiță Marchiș, Cătălin Csomai.
